Native to India, this plant of the Zingiberaceae family, like ginger and cardamom, is now cultivated in its country of origin, in China, Mauritius, Reunion Island, Madagascar and Colombia.
The turmeric powder we offer is exceptional and has nothing to do with the vulgar powders you're familiar with, which serve only to color dishes.
We peel the rhizomes and keep only the heart, the part richest in curcumin and essences, which we then slowly dry in the sun and reduce to powder.
Turmeric, along with clove and nutmeg, is the king of antioxidants: 130 times more than green tea!
